Each winery offered a unique experience and the knowledgeable staff provided a wealth of information about port wine. We also learned fascinating details about the wine regions and their distinct characteristics and some historical insights from our guide. The cancelled boat tour due to the weather was perfectly compensated with extra wine. Overall, it was a wonderful way to conclude our trip in Porto.”

There is a lot of travel throughout the day but our guide Rita was out of this world she made the experience so amazing through every adventure. The views are stunning on the drives and the vineyards are unforgettable. The wine is so good and definitely an experience you need to do when in Porto or the area. Some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. Was also able to connect with so many other people in the group and we all had a great time on the bus back!”

“This is a perfect intro of the Douro Valley! It’s a beautiful must see location from Porto. Our guide Manuela was funny, kind and knowledgeable. It’s definitely worth the money. A few people did get quite nauseous on the way there and back, so I would recommend preparing plastic bags or nausea medicine. It is definitely worth it if you only have a short time in porto and can’t go stay in the Douro valley!”

“This was a well organised and interesting excursion. Miguel, our guide for the day, was very knowledgeable about wine making in the Douro region and kept us well informed. Our excursion included lunch, with a glass of wine and two wine tasting sessions. The second was at the oldest Port lodge, dating from 1638. We also enjoyed a boat trip down the River Douro. “In my opinion, they have all the boxes ticked off. Great team to drive and guide us. The two vineyards/wineries we went to were quaint, which made them welcoming. The wines were nice, ranging from light and fruity to a beautiful tawny port. Our first meal was perfect for the time and setting. In my opinion, our second meal was too heavy for the time and setting. I wouldn't hesitate to book this trip again!”

Unfortunately due to weather problems, we were unable to go on the boat portion of the tour, but they did substitute an extra winery. Would definitely recommend this tour.”
